Good morning! Here is the “Big Learning” we have planned for this 4 week block of learning.
The children have made a super job of creating cereal box castles with working drawbridges as part of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) project.
On Friday, before they bring them home, the class may bring in any Lego, Playmobil people etc. for imaginative play using the castles. They worked hard on them and used lots of problem solving and teamwork skills to make them. Well done P2!
Hare are the words for the French and Gaelic songs we are learning.

Something simple and home made would be perfect, please don’t feel the need to buy a costume. We will also be teaming up with P4 for some book related activities on Thursday afternoon.
The children enjoyed their trip to Urquhart Castle yesterday, despite the blizzard like conditions at one point! Many thanks again to the parent helpers. I’ll upload some photos next week – technical problems mean I can’t get them uploaded today.

Reminder about Urquhart Castle trip
The class will be visiting the castle on Thursday 27th February. We will be leaving the school at 9,30 and returning at 2.30 approx. Please make sure that children are wearing their school jumper, joggers/leggings and a warm waterproof jacket. Also remember a packed lunch, a snack and a drink. Children who are having a school packed lunch should bring their own snack and they may wish to bring an additional drink.
A group of pupils and our cook Jen are working on a Rights Respecting Canteen Charter.
As part of this process, the pupils would like to invite other pupils to complete a questionnaire on use of the canteen service, both the food and the behaviours they would expect in a restaurant-type setting. This will mean we can focus on the skills, service and behaviours we can improve on.
Jen (Cook) is also able to feed forward pupil responses to Catering Services and we may be able to influence future menus!
