The children have received their new spelling list in their jotters.

Group 1 – bin, bed, best, burn, rub, bib

Group 2 – moth, thin, three, bath, think, with

Group 3 – speak, clean, steal, team, stream, wheat

They might want to show you how they make spelling pyramids which can help them to spell the words correctly.

I have also added some sight vocabulary lists which the children had been working on previously. I have highlighted the words they had instant recall of, when I assessed them. They could practise reading the words which are not yet highlighted.

The children will receive their new reading books at the beginning of next week. I will also attach a list of activities the children can using their book. These can also be used in looking at other books or when having a story read to them.

In Numeracy, we are looking at the bigger/smaller number and also putting a selection of numbers in order either starting with the biggest or smallest number –

34 50 27 43 39

27 34 39 43 50

or

50 43 39 34 27

What comes after 27?

What comes before 27?

Can they name some numbers which come between 27 and 34?
