The children will have a list of their spelling words in their Homework jotters.

Group 1 – fun, fit, fan, from, if, fist

Group 2 – day, tray, play, stay, prayer, away

Group 3 – wheel, whisk, when, whisper, what, why

They can practise spelling these words using Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check method or they could use Rainbow Spelling to think about the way these words are spelled.

As we are still working on ordering and sequencing numbers, children could play board games like Snakes and Ladders to practise thinking about what number comes before and after the one they have landed on.

Number Basketball is also a good game to practise sequencing the numbers. This can be played saying the numbers forward or backward from any given number. Your child could also practise writing the numbers in order paying attention to the correct formation of the numbers.

Your child will also receive their new reading book on Monday or Tuesday. The children can practise retelling the story in their own words. If their group is looking at a non-fiction book they can talk about the facts they have learned from the book.

I will collect the homework jotters in on Thursday, 26th Sept.
