A short week for the children this week. There will be no school for them on Monday and Tuesday as these are our Inservice Days.

In Literacy, the children will not receive new reading books this week, so if they are very confident with the book they have, you could share a book your child has at home. We will be writing a personal story on Wednesday, so your child can discuss with you the things they have been doing over the weekend. The spelling home learning your child received will be collected in on Thursday, 19th Sept.

In Numeracy we will be continuing looking at numbers to 30/50/100 and thinking about the order of these numbers.

Some examples- What comes before 30? What comes after 51? What comes between 42 and 44? Which number is bigger – 24 or 32?

We are also looking at flat shapes – square, circle, triangle and rectangle. We are naming the shapes and then using the shapes to make pictures, and do matching and sorting activities.

PE as usual on Wednesday afternoon. We are working on throwing and catching skills.

Next week we will be thinking about what we want to find out about our new topic – Working Together. We will be looking at the different work people do around our area, and what their job involves. We will be looking for people to come in and talk to the children about their job. If you would like to come in to talk about your job, please let me know.
